Gizmoroo (working title) Support

Last updated: 31 October 2026

Gizmoroo (a working title) is a puzzle toy of marbles and little machines, made mainly for children aged 4–6 — something you can hand over instead of videos. No reading needed: children join up tracks, build little contraptions and try again and again until the marble gets there. No ads, and it works without the internet.

What they’re really playing with: how a computer works

Nothing is explained inside the game. But every world is a machine built the way one part of a computer works.

The next world, the order factory (marbles lined up in a tube, read one by one = a program run step by step), is in the works. The app’s Grown-ups page names what was solved each day in these words, such as “if-then decisions: 3 machines”.

Questions, something not working, or something you wish it did — please write. We read everything we receive.

From inside the app: in the workshop, press and hold Grown-ups (top left) for about a second, answer the quick sum, then Contact us. On a device without a mail account, the address is shown so you can copy it.

Common questions

What is free, and what is paid?

There are 76 machines. The 18 in the first world (world 1) are free for ever. The 58 machines of worlds 2–5 and free build open with any one of these.

Before the charge, the app's Grown-ups page tells you (from three days before a free trial ends), and the last day to cancel can go in your calendar.

The prices are shown in the app and on the App Store. From three days before a free trial ends, the app's Grown-ups page says “On <date>, <price> will be charged · cancel here” (a children's app, so it sends no notifications). Worlds 4 and 5 are the trickier worlds and come with every plan. World 2 opens once half of world 1 is solved, world 4 once half of world 3 is, and world 5 once half of world 4 is (all from the start for children of 7 and up); until then the workshop shows them with a sleeping moon.

Cancelling or changing a subscription

In the app: Grown-ups (press and hold the chip at the top left of the workshop for about a second) → Purchase → Cancel or change the subscription. Or on your iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Gizmoroo. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date (for a free trial, before the trial ends) and nothing more is charged. The app's Grown-ups page and purchase screen show that deadline as a day and hour (an hour earlier still, to be safe). After cancelling, everything stays open until the end of the period already paid; after that, worlds 2–5 close again, but world 1 stays free for ever and your child's records and treasures stay. Machines your child has already solved stay playable; the rest rest (nothing is taken away). Start again and it carries on where it left off. To switch to “For Ever”, first turn off the subscription's auto-renew so you don't pay twice (the app won't sell “For Ever” until it is off).

"Payment couldn't be confirmed (Apple is retrying)"

This shows when the payment at the end of the free trial (or of a paid period) didn't go through, for example because a card has expired. Apple keeps retrying for up to 60 days; as soon as the payment goes through, the yearly (or monthly) price is charged and it can be played again (the waiting worlds in their order). Meanwhile Grown-ups and the plans screen say so, and worlds 2–5 rest (machines already solved still play). To carry on, check the payment method in Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping. If you don't want to carry on, cancel with Cancel here on that screen, or in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, and nothing will be charged later. While Apple is retrying, “For ever” can't be bought in the app (the subscription would still be charged once the card works, so you would pay twice): cancel first, then buy it.

If it says "Payment couldn't be confirmed (you can keep playing until …)" (the grace period): during Apple's Billing Grace Period, worlds 2–5 stay open even though the payment hasn't gone through, until the date shown. Apple retries the payment in that time; once it goes through, the yearly (or monthly) price is charged and the plan simply carries on. If it hasn't gone through by that date, it changes to the retrying case above (worlds 2–5 rest, machines already solved still play). If you don't want to carry on, cancel with Cancel here on the plans screen or in Grown-ups, or in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Restoring purchases (a new device, or after reinstalling)

Purchases belong to the Apple ID they were made with. On a new device signed in to the same Apple ID they open by themselves at launch. If they don't, go to Grown-ups → Purchase → Restore purchases (an internet connection is needed). If that still doesn't bring them back, write to us with roughly when you bought them.

Does it work with Family Sharing?

Yes. Yearly, Monthly and For Ever are all shared with up to six members of your Family Sharing group at no extra cost. If your child uses Ask to Buy, the purchase opens by itself once a parent approves it.

Setting a daily play limit

In Grown-ups → Daily play time, pick 10 to 60 minutes, or no limit. When time is up, Gizmo falls asleep in the workshop and the machines rest until tomorrow. A machine in progress is never taken away, and there are no timers or warnings on screen. To give 10 more minutes today, press and hold Grown-ups at the top left of the sleep screen, answer the quick sum, then tap Give 10 more minutes today in the grown-ups' page.

Where is my child's information?

Only on the device. There are no accounts or sign-in, no advertising and no third-party analytics. The app sends nothing to us or to anyone else. A name is optional, and a nickname is fine. Grown-ups → Start over clears the records, the minutes played, the name, the age, the goal and the daily limit, and the app starts again from its first page (purchases stay with your Apple ID).

I can't get into Grown-ups

The way in asks a two-digit by one-digit multiplication (so a child can't reach purchases or outside links alone). The Grown-ups chip opens on a press and hold of about a second, not on a short tap. After three wrong answers the keypad rests for a while (30 s, then 60 s, then 5 min; the count starts over each day); please wait a moment and try again. The green back button always works.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The internet is needed only to buy or restore. On a plane, every world you own can be played.

Privacy

What the app keeps, and what it never sends, is set out in the Gizmoroo (working title) Privacy Policy.
