Pixel Valley Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
Casa Pivote (“we”) makes Pixel Valley (“the app”). This policy explains what happens to your information.
1. The short version — what you record stays on your device
Everything you record in Pixel Valley — your habits, your check-ins, your field notes, your settings — is kept in a database on your device. We do not run a server that receives it, and we do not collect it.
- We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifiers.
- The app carries no third-party advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software. It does not follow you across other apps or websites.
- The app works without an internet connection.
2. Optional sync between your own devices
If you turn on sync, the app signs you in with Sign in with Apple and keeps a copy of part of your record in our database, so that your own devices stay in step. Sync stays off until you turn it on.
- What we receive when you sign in: only the identifier Apple issues for you. The app asks Apple for no name and no email address, so we never receive them.
- What is copied to the server: your habits, your check-in events, the curios and pairings you have found, and app settings.
- What is never copied to the server: your field notes, and the weather marks that go with them. They stay on your device. Our database has no table for them.
- Where the copy is held: Supabase (servers in the United States), processing on our instructions. Traffic is encrypted with TLS, and rows are readable only by your own account (row-level security).
- Turning it off: signing out stops sync and leaves everything on your device untouched.
- Deleting it: the app has an account deletion control. It removes the copy held on the server and asks Apple to revoke the app’s access. What is on your device is not touched.
3. Purchases
Expedition Pass and Founder’s Pass are sold and processed by Apple. We receive no name, no payment details, and nothing else that identifies you as a purchaser. Apple’s handling is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy. The app asks Apple, on your device, whether a purchase is active.
4. Notifications
Notifications are scheduled by the app on your device. We operate no push server and hold no device token. We do not send marketing notifications.
5. App updates
The app asks Expo’s update service (Expo Application Services, United States) whether a correction to its own code is available. That request tells the service which version of the app is asking and, as with any internet request, your IP address. It carries none of what you have recorded.
6. Children
The app is made for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Your rights
You may ask us to disclose, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Write to the address below and we will answer without undue delay. If you have turned sync on, you can also delete everything held on the server from inside the app at any time.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, the change is posted on this page and noted in the app. Significant changes are posted before they take effect.
